Colonial House Plans
Colonial homes, known as a “Saltbox” design, are symmetrical in appearance and offer its owner a simple and charming appeal. Derived from the styles of England and other European countries, and brought to America by our early settlers, this architectural style house plan boasts basic living areas and a simple livability. On the exterior, strong columns highlight the perfectly centered front door. Two windows on the bottom floor and five windows upstairs and a medium roof pitch complete the look of a Colonial design. Inside, living areas are typically on the first floor and the bedrooms are upstairs, which are accessed by the staircase as you enter in the main hallway through the front door. Variations of this design include French Colonial, Spanish Colonial, Dutch Colonial, German Colonial and Georgian. Distinctive House Plans offers several Colonial designs from which to choose.
